It&#8217;s 2 days into the new year and if you are contemplating, thinking about, wanting to, or vowing to get organized and to simplify your life then read on!</p>
<p>January is the month when you will mostly likely hear these  &#8221;New year, New you!&#8221;, &#8220;A better you&#8221;, &#8220;This is the year I&#8217;m going to do ____ &#8220;, &#8220;Live the life you want&#8221; and it&#8217;s my New Year&#8217;s Resolution to do &#8220;_______&#8221;.   The new year beckons you with possibility to make some solid and wonderful changes that will impact our lives positively. You ponder what you want to do differently this year. You ponder what you envision for your life. You dream and reach for the stars! Yes!!!</p>
<p>If one of those changes is to Get Organized, I applaud you! That is one surefire way you can make changes that will feel good to you and really make difference in your quality of life.</p>
<p>Getting organized is a process. There&#8217;s a beginning, a middle and an end. This process is evident in any environment. It can be one room, a whole house, an entire business or administrative structure or even your whole life. Whatever the case is, the process of organizing brings with it many rewards besides the organization and end result itself. At first it may bring doubt, confusion and frustration, but as soon as you roll up those sleeves and get to work on what gets in the way, this process brings a greater sense of clarity, ease and priority to things that you may not have accessed before.</p>
<p>You may be asking &#8220;How do I get there?&#8221; and my answer is &#8220;make a decision, not a resolution.&#8221;</p>
<p>A resolution is <a href=" http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/resolution">defined</a> as &#8220;a formal expression of opinion or intention made&#8221; and &#8221;a resolve or determination&#8221;<br />
A decision is <a href="http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/decision ">defined</a> as &#8220;determination arrived at after consideration&#8221;</p>
<p>A resolution sounds strong, powerful and very&#8230;well&#8230;resolute, doesn&#8217;t it?  When you resolve to do something it doesn&#8217;t mean there isn&#8217;t a strong intention to do it, and it doesn&#8217;t mean you aren&#8217;t taking this &#8221; _____ &#8220;seriously. To me it simply means there is still room for swaying back and forth in there. It means &#8220;I&#8217;ve almost decided but not quite&#8221;. Resolutions can fade or dissolve, whereas a decision&#8230;</p>
<p>A decision means you&#8217;ve decided. Period. The end. &#8220;I&#8217;ve decided!&#8221; That sounds better than &#8220;I&#8217;ve resolved&#8221; doesn&#8217;t it?  It could take some time in getting the point of decision and I encourage you to take that time, but once you do,  a decision says you&#8217;ve had a conversation with yourself.  All those parts of you that were contemplating the resolutions are now ready and on board to go on this journey, this decision with you. How exciting!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>So you receive a gazillion holiday greetings each year. Some with photos, some without. They are soooo cute and so very cheerful! You read them, put them out on the mantel to add holiday cheer, and you Ooh and Ahh over them. Am I right?</p>
<p>When the holidays are over what do you with them? Do you keep them?<br />
If they have photos you may be thinking “I should keep them right?” Wrong!</p>
<p>As you can probably tell by reading my other entries, I’m a big believer in not accumulating anything.  My belief that those people who sent you cards this year, will send you cards and photos next year and before you know it you will have 10 + years worth of cards accumulated somewhere. This is yet one more thing you have to manage and you already have enough to do in your busy life!</p>
<p>My advice is don’t keep them. Put them out and enjoy them for the season and then let them go.<br />
Unless you are planning to frame and display any of these photos of friends, loved ones and pets, then let them go! I promise you will get more next year!</p>
